Craig Dokken Elected President of Youth Hockey Association
Commercial litigator and construction attorney Craig Dokken has been elected president of the Champlin Park Youth Hockey Association for 2010-2011. He assumed this new leadership role in April.
Craig remains active in the community. In addition to serving the legal community as a member of the General Assembly and Appointments Committee of the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA) and the Hennepin County Bar Association (HCBA) Board of Governors, he is also a member of the Suburban Northwest Builders Association, board member of his church foundation, and frequent lecturer. Craig was recently elected to serve on the board of directors for the Bay Lake Townhome Association.
Craig concentrates his practice on construction law and litigation, commercial litigation, and insurance subrogation. He is chair of Henningson & Snoxell's construction practice. He also advises banks and other lending institutions on foreclosure, creditors' rights, loan workouts, fraud and collections matters.
David Henningson Receives 20-Year Service Award from Rotary Club
David Henningson, President of the law firm of Henningson & Snoxell, was recently recognized by the Rotary Club of Maple Grove for 20 years of service to the organization. David was instrumental in the rotary club's founding as one of its original charter members and also served as its first president and was a board member during it's formative years. Today, he remains actively involved in the organization.
In his daily practice, David primarily focuses on business and commercial law, privately held companies, nonprofit organizations, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic succession planning.
Rich Krambeer Recognized as a Volunteer of the Year
Rich Krambeer, family law attorney and mediator with the Maple Grove law firm of Henningson & Snoxell, Ltd. was named a 2010 Volunteer of the Year by Community Mediation Services, Inc. (CMS). CMS provides mediation services in several court settings in Hennepin County and is involved in juvenile court victim-offender programs. The organization also contracts with several suburban cities to provide mediation for their citizens, and it provides dispute resolution services to school districts.
This is Rich's sixth year as a member of the organization's Board of Directors. During that time he has served two terms as the President of CMS. In December 2009, he was part of a team from CMS that volunteered to serve as facilitators at the request of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. They assisted in the public comment segment at public hearings on the Iron Range and in the Twin Cities on a proposal to establish a copper mine in Northern Minnesota. Rich serves on CMS' Finance and Strategic Realignment Committees and has served on various other ad hoc committees over the years.
"I am honored by the recognition," Rich said, "but it is the excellent staff and loyal, skilled mediators and other volunteers that make CMS the effective organization it is."
Susan Peterson Named Partner at Henningson & Snoxell
Henningson & Snoxell, Ltd. is pleased to announce that Susan T. Peterson was recently named a partner of the firm. Susan is chair of the firm's Estate Planning Department and practices in the areas of estate planning, probate and estate administration, and elder law.
Susan works with individuals and families of all sizes to identify, prioritize, and implement their goals. Clients trust her to handle their most personal information and concerns, from drafting wills and trusts, incapacity planning, family business succession planning to contested probate administrations, guardianships, charitable giving, medical assistance planning and more. She also assists high net worth multi-generational families with complex estate and tax issues.

Active in the numerous associations, she is a member of the Minnesota State and Hennepin County Bar Associations, National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and Minnesota Women Lawyers. She is a sought after speaker and writer on a wide variety of estate planning topics. For the past three years, Susan has received the "Rising Star" designation by Minnesota Law & Politics. She is active in the community and president-elect of the Rotary Club of Maple Grove.
Henningson & Snoxell Expands Family Law Practice
Henningson & Snoxell, Ltd. today announced that Lisa Bachmeier has joined the law firm practicing exclusively in the area of family law. Henningson & Snoxell has 13 attorneys who represent businesses, nonprofit organizations and individuals throughout the Twin Cities and Northwest Metro area.
Lisa joins the firm after practicing for several years with another Twin Cities law firm that focused exclusively in representing clients in family law matters. She previously clerked for the Honorable James Swenson, former presiding judge of Hennepin County Family Court and current Chief Judge of Hennepin County District Court.
Lisa has been named a Rising Star by Minnesota Law & Politics magazine. She obtained her J.D. from Hamline University School of Law and her B.S. from Moorhead State University. Lisa is licensed to practice law in all Minnesota state and federal courts. Active in the community, she is a member of the Hennepin County and Minnesota State Bar Associations.

Three Henningson & Snoxell Attorneys Named to Minnesota Super Lawyers List

He works with clients to prevent and resolve employment law problems, helps protect intellectual property rights and advises clients about business succession and personal estate planning needs.

October 7-8 Elder Law Institute
Henningson & Snoxell estate planning attorney Lori Skibbie will present during the 2010 Elder Law Institute (ELI), which will be held October 7-8 at the Minnesota CLE Conference Center. ELI is a collaboration between Minnesota Continuing Legal Education (CLE) and the Elder Law Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA).
Lori's session is titled "Basics: Navigating Your First Guardianship/Conservatorship Petition" and is scheduled for the afternoon of October 7. Lori has extensive experience assisting families with appointing a guardian and/or conservator, and also representing these individuals upon court approval. She served on the planning committee for this year's ELI and will also serve as the MSBA Assembly representative for MSBA's Elder Law Section.
September 29, 2010 Lien Foreclosures in Minnesota
Henningson & Snoxell Ltd. real estate attorney Steve Graffunder is scheduled to present at Minnesota Continuing Legal Education's (CLE) "Lien Foreclosures in Minnesota," a comprehensive all-day seminar on the lien foreclosure process.
This educational session, which will take place September 29, will kick off with Steve's workshop on how to avoid common pitfalls in the foreclosure process. Topics will include pre- and post-foreclosure considerations and notices, mortgage foreclosures by advertisement, and redemption rights and issues. May 29, 2010 Family Cabin Options
Henningson & Snoxell Ltd. estate planning attorney Susan Peterson presented a seminar on family cabin options for the Whitefish Cabin Association's Annual Meeting May 29. With some 450,000 cabins in Minnesota, keeping the cabin in the family is a common estate planning concern. In this "Family Cabin Options" seminar, Susan outlined client concerns and goals and discussed transfer options, rationales, and legal structures to keep the cabin in the family. Susan is chair of the firm's Estate Planning Department and practices in the areas of estate planning, probate and estate administration, and elder law.

On April 17, 2010, Henningson & Snoxell co-sponsored "National Healthcare Decisions Day" with the new Maple Grove Hospital and Fairview Clinic, Maple Grove. The event took place on Saturday, April 17 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the hospital.
