Jim Snoxell is the CEO and chairs the Henningson & Snoxell, Ltd. Business Law and Nonprofit Organizations Department. He works primarily with the firm's business and nonprofit clients by advising them about business and corporate law issues. Jim assists nonprofit organizations with their unique legal concerns and needs. He helps business clients with business acquisitions and sales, drafting contracts, working to prevent and resolve employment law problems, helping protect clients’ intellectual property rights, advising about business continuation, ownership succession, personal estate planning needs, and helping with select real estate law matters.
Jim has been selected thirteen times as a
Minnesota Law & Politics “Super Lawyer” (2001, 2002, 2004, and 2006 through
2015) and has also received an AV® Preeminent Peer Review Rating in the
distinguished legal directory, Martindale-Hubbell®. (AV® Preeminent™ is a certification mark of Reed Elsevier Properties
Inc., used in accordance with the Martindale-Hubbell certification
procedures, standards and policies). Jim speaks at various Minnesota
Continuing Legal Education programs, including, most recently, the 2014 and
2015 Minnesota Closely Held Business Conferences and the 2015 Drafting and
Reviewing Contracts seminar.
Jim received his Juris Doctor degree with honors
from the University of Minnesota Law School after graduating with honors from
Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota.
Jim is admitted to represent clients before the U.S. Supreme Court, the
Minnesota Supreme Court, Minnesota’s state appellate and district courts, the
Federal District Court for Minnesota, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, and
the U.S. Tax Court.
Like other attorneys at Henningson & Snoxell,
Jim is active in the communities we serve and his home neighborhood. Jim
recently completed serving as a director of the Brooklyn Community Business
Association, director of the TwinWest Chamber Foundation and the North Hennepin
Community College Foundation. These foundations are higher education
scholarship organizations. Jim is a past director of the TwinWest Chamber of
Commerce and past President of the Brooklyn Community Chamber of Commerce. He
has served as a Co-chairperson and director of the St. Anthony Park Community
Council (a publicly elected district planning and city-community liaison
organization).
Jim has served his Church as its Moderator (two
terms), Treasurer (three years), and as chairperson of major remodeling
projects in 1997-1998, fundraising and major repair project in 2008, and the
capital campaign for major renovation work being done in 2015-2016. Jim presently
serves on the Board of Governors of St. Anthony Park Properties, LLC, and on
the Board of Trustees of his Church.
When away from the office, Jim enjoys hiking,
gardening, and a variety of activities with his family. In recent years Jim
enjoyed leading a Destination Imagination team at his neighborhood’s elementary
school for four years and many seasons of youth soccer coaching. Jim has also been an adult Cub Scout leader
and an age group coordinator and team manager for the Blackhawks of St. Paul Soccer
Club.
