Debra Nelson is an Attorney and Shareholder in the firm of Henningson & Snoxell, Ltd. located in Maple Grove, Minnesota, practicing in the firm’s Business Law, Employment Law, and Commercial Real Estate Departments. Debra has more than 27 years of experience representing businesses, ranging from start-up ventures to multi-million dollar companies in business and corporate matters, such as mergers and acquisitions, general business and corporate law advice, business formations and dissolutions, contract law, and business succession planning
She represents employers in employment matters, including: non-compete agreements, employment agreements, employee handbooks, severance agreements, and general employee issues.
Debra represents organizations and individuals in commercial and residential real estate transactions including acquisitions, sales, development agreements, leases and easements. She is also experienced in mechanic’s lien foreclosures and commercial evictions.
Debra is active in the community and volunteers at her children’s schools and sports activities in many different capacities. She enjoys hiking, kayaking and canoeing. She served as a Board Member of the Scleroderma Foundation-Minnesota Chapter for more than 10 years. Debra was also a volunteer for Management Assistance Project ("MAP") setting up nonprofit corporations.
Born in Nebraska, Debra received her B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska and her J.D. from the University of Nebraska College of Law. Upon receiving her law degree, Debra moved to Minnesota and became in-house counsel for a growing mortgage broker. Since that time, she has practiced law in the Twin Cities area. In 2016, she brought her solo practice to Henningson & Snoxell.
